Common questions
Everything you need to know before your first visit.
Does Bridgewell Health accept insurance?
We accept some major insurers; coverage varies by state and plan. Many of our members pay out of pocket and find our subscription pricing more predictable than using insurance. We recommend checking with your insurer before signing up if coverage matters to you. We do not accept Medicaid or Medicare at this time.
Can you prescribe controlled substances?
No. Federal law requires an in-person clinical evaluation before a provider may prescribe Schedule II–IV controlled substances, including stimulants (e.g., Adderall), benzodiazepines, and opioids. Bridgewell Health providers will not prescribe controlled substances through our platform under any circumstances. If you need these medications, please see an in-person provider.
What is the age requirement to use Bridgewell?
You must be 18 years of age or older to use most Bridgewell Health services. We do not provide pediatric care at this time.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You may cancel at any time. Log in to your patient portal, go to Account Settings, and select Manage Subscription, then Cancel. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged for the following month. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel; we will send a renewal reminder by email 7 days before each billing date.
Can I get a refund?
We offer a full refund within 7 days of your first charge if you have not yet had a clinical visit. After a visit has occurred, we cannot refund that billing period. Contact support@bridgewellhealth.example with refund requests.
How long does prescription shipping take?
Most prescriptions ship within 1–2 business days of approval and arrive within 3–5 business days via standard shipping. Expedited shipping is available at checkout for an additional fee. Some medications must be dispensed through your local pharmacy and cannot be shipped directly.
What should I do in a medical emergency?
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. Do not use Bridgewell Health for emergencies. Bridgewell is not an emergency service and our response times are not appropriate for urgent or life-threatening situations.
Is Bridgewell available in my state?
We are not licensed in every state; check eligibility before signing up. We currently operate in 47 states. Enter your ZIP code on the signup page to confirm availability in your area. We are actively working to expand to all 50 states.
How does Bridgewell protect my health information?
Bridgewell Health is fully HIPAA-compliant. Your health information is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored on HIPAA-eligible cloud infrastructure, and never sold to advertisers or third parties. We share information only as permitted by law and only as necessary to provide your care.
How do I download or transfer my medical records?
You can download a PDF of your visit notes, lab results, and prescription history at any time from your patient portal under My Records. To transfer records to another provider, submit a records release request through the portal or email support@bridgewellhealth.example with the recipient's fax number or secure email address. We will process all records requests within 5 business days.
